New Wilderness

from New Wilderness by The Glacial Speed

lyrics

Power lines draw an arc ‘cross the sky as red and rusty as blood.
From the backseat I could theorize all those things to come.
But beneath the pines, we committed the crime of being much too young to realize we had time on our side, but now that’s over and done.

On fire escapes the whole city shakes as the air fills with dust
It’s not hard to see that when we breathe it’s much too dangerous
But you said to me that you had to leave and I said well if you must.
But don’t expect me to ever grieve for the ending of us.

The distance is getting further each day.
The memories are starting to fade.
